Nauvoo Buddies

I got together with 2 of my dear sweet friends that I met in Nauvoo while we were doing a semester of BYU. Ali doesn't live around here anymore but was in town for a funeral, she has 2 cute kids! Eliza who is a few months older than Brookie, and Henry who is almost 1.

Here are Brookie and Eliza dancing to Mickey Mouse.

We had donuts which the girls loved!

Al lives in Logan but I don't see her that often so it was so good to get together and see eachother kids and chat!! Al has a 4 month old little girl, Raquel that both Brooklyn and I loved!!

I know, I know don't you just love our picture taking! We didn't have another adult in the household to take a picture of all 3 of us!! :)

Al, Me and Ali!! These girls are awesome, they are the ones who helped me get through that semester of BYU minus one (Patrice couldn't make it.) I had left my boyfriend for 3 months before he was going on a mission, what the crap was I thinking?! No it was really good for both Lane and I to do this but let's be honest I was a wreck for a while. Ali was the one that held my hand as I was on the phone with Lane as he got his mission call and helped me to be excited and get through it. Al is the one that let me use her cell phone all the time to call him and she was the one that introduced me to waxing!!!

She waxed my lip and I've been doing those and my eyebrows every since!! Thanks Hog!!!
Now as for Al's daughter Raquel she is the cutest, now pictures do just not do justice for how cute this girl is. Brooklyn absolutely loved her. She would say, "I hold it." So I'd sit her on the couch with Raquel and then she tell me, "You take my picture."

If she started to cry, Brookie would say, "sshh, it's ok, I'm right here baby." So cute!! It made me more baby hungry than I already am if that is possible.

Ali is holding Raquel and Al is holding Henry, look at her totally check him out!

I just want to tell you girls thank you!! Ali thanks for coming into town even though the circumstances weren't the best. And Al thanks for driving down and letting me and my daughter totally enjoy ourselves with Raquel!!!

SNOW!!!!!

For President's Day weekend my Dad wanted us to all come up to the cabin to celebrate his birthday. I'll be honest, I wasn't totally thrilled to go just because I had Monday off from work and would've rather stayed home and been constructive and got things done. But I went up there for my Dad. Lane had to stay home for school and work so me and Brookie headed up there Sunday evening. Brooklyn has come to like her Uncle Kyle a lot!! These pictures are so cute, she loves to snuggle with him and read books!

Dad wanted us to all go for a snowmobile ride, but me and Emily were exhausted from being up late the night before and up early that day with the kids. Brookie does not sleep very good up there (another reason I don't really like to go.) We wanted to take a nap while the kids were asleep, so we didn't go with everyone on a ride; we took a very much needed nap!!!

But when they woke up we bundled them up and went outside. Landon woke up on the wrong side of the bed and was freaking out the whole time so Emily took him inside, but me and Brookie stayed out there and played for a minute. She wanted Papa to take her for a ride on the snowmobile, but by the time he got back she had changed her mind.

This last picture is my favorite, she loved walking in the snow. We didn't buy her snow boots this year but she didn't mind just walking in her tennis shoes!

Play Date

Once a week my sister in law, Tiffany and I get together with her two kids while the husbands are working and we have dinner and do a craft. This week is was my turn for dinner, I made yummy sweet and sour chicken with fried rice and Tiff was in charge of the craft. She got these really cute hand puppet packets from Walmart. Brookie made a bird.

Kaylie made a pig.

Jayden hard at work on his lion.

The finished products. They were really cute and super easy to put together.

Brookie and Kaylie have a love hate relationship. One day they are best buds hugging each other all time, and the next day they are pushing and shoving each other! Obviously Kaylie has an older brother and is sometimes rough with Brooklyn and she doesn't like that. They are 4 months apart and hopefully we be best friends growing up. Brookie is trying to put down her bird to give "Key" a hug. That's what Brookie calls her.

Brookie loves to play with her cousins and since she doesn't have a sibling to play with like they do, I cherish these get togethers.

What is with the bandaid?

Our dear sweet little one has exzeyma (I don't know if thats how you spell it.) It just means dry skin. She kept picking at the dry skin on her nose leaving this scab that was never going to go away. Then one day I thought of a brillant idea, put a princess bandaid on it, hello!!! It's finally starting to heal but it will probably leave a scar. She also has lip-suckers syndrome. That's the real name and it really does mean something....you are always licking around your lips. Now we have noticed ever since she was little that if she was concentrating really hard she always had her tongue out to the side. Just recently it started getting worse where she was licking the whole bottom of her lip, leaving it red and irritated. Definately a bad habit that will be hard to break, but she's getting better. There are some pretty extreme cases, her's was mild and we put cream on it and it's actually all gone.
