Our Memorial Weekend

We had a very long, very much needed weekend. I took Friday off from work and Lane didn't have to go to work until 5. So we enjoyed the day together. First we went to Thanksgiving point to the petting zoo with my Mom.
We petted (is that even a word) the Llama's.

Then they tried to kiss Brookie and she didn't really like that.

She did feed the horse grass from her own little hand, I was very shocked.

And even fed the birds too.

She was mesmerized by the horses yet when we took her on the pony ride she freaked out. So we settled for a wagon ride pulled by horses.

Our little family! Obviously she was more interested in something else!

I honestly couldn't tell you what we did Saturday and Sunday but it was good to just rest! Monay (Memorial Day) was Lane's birthday. He spent the morning golfing with his Dad, brother and sister 18 holes. Then we had a barbeque up Provo Canyon with both my family and his. The weather was perfect and we enjoyed each other's company. Lane's mom bought the kids bubble guns which entertained them the whole time. She also had a huge frisbee that entertained the adults.

After the BBQ Lane went golfing with my Dad, brother and brother in law another 9 holes!! He was sunburnt when he got home, but it was his birthday and that is what he wanted to do!
That night Lane and I went out just the 2 of us! It was great!! These days we only go out for special occasions like birthdays or our anniversary because he is working so much. He wanted Iggy's so we went there and then saw the movie Ghosts of Girlfriends past which was really good. Then we hit up Taco Amigo on the way home and got delicious glaciers!! Happy Birthday Lane!

Liberty Land

Lane had they day off so we headed to Liberty Land out in Lehi. It's new place that is very family oriented. We decided to take Brookie there and probably scarred her for life. She did good on most of the stuff but she is still talking about how she didn't want to ride the airplane ride.

Of course she was totally fine with the slide, we couldn't get her off it.

This is where we went all wrong. The roller coaster. I really wasn't expecting it to be that scary. . .well it was!! It went pretty fast and she is probably traumatized and won't ever go on a roller coaster again.

Luckily we redeemed ourselves with the Carousel. This was probably her favorite ride!

I know I look thrilled in the next picture, we were just waiting.

"Daddy, please save me."

Bumper Boats were actually a lot of fun. Of course getting into them she was a little hesitant but she eventually warmed up!

"Ok, this is fun!"

Mom and Dad probably enjoyed these the most! I didn't know how to drive them so Lane pushed me up against the wall where water comes out so I was soaked!! I was trying to save the camera from getting wet, my phone was ringing so my pocket was vibrating all the meanwhile trying my hardest not to get wet!!!

Our family!!!

Riding the train with Mom!

Of course all she wanted to do was ride the little kiddie rides that cost money to ride them. We gave in and let her ride a couple of them!

We also hit 18 holes of miniature golf and had lunch. Lane also took the night off so we had a BBQ is some friends and family!! We always take full advantage of Daddy have a free day and do something together.

(Help!! I want to make a picture collage but I don't know how!!)

Here is my stud of husband on his first day of work at the hospital! Soon to be nurse, doctor or whatever it is he decides to do!!!
(I couldn't flip it)
He is really enjoying working in this field. IHC is a great place to work for. We thought we didn't see eachother before him working at the hospital, no we really don't ever see eachother. He goes to work at 6 p.m. and gets back home at 7 a.m. I get up at 8 a.m. and go to work until 5 p.m. and then we start all over again. It's hard but we are making sacrafices for eachother so that we can both spend time with Brookie. Speaking of Brookie. . .I just love her!! I didn't post anything from Mother's Day, but it was a great day!! Last year Lane was dumb and said Mother's Day is a stupid holiday along with Father's Day! Hello! What is he thinking? Well this year he redeemed himself and made up for it. He was so sweet, when I woke up in the morning he had a card for me and a Nintendo DS with a game! How thoughtful! We didn't go to church since Brookie had pneumonia so we went over to my parents house to visit, since Lane doesn't ever see them because he's working so much! It was good. Then we headed over to Lane's parents house for lunch then back home for a much needed nap. Lane had to go to work and I went up to my Grandparents and had dinner. Lane got off work early and came home and we spent some time together!! It was great!

We let the kids plant some flowers, they loved it. Brookie loves to go out and water her planter everyday.

We also went miniature golfing for the first time and had so much fun!!
This picture is priceless! It was a fun family outing, even though all she wanted to do was go inside and play the aracade toys she still got into it!

This little girl makes our family complete!! I love to come home from work and see her cute little smile as she says, "Mama, you all done with work?"

Good News and Bad News

I will start with the bad news first. Poor little Brooklyn has pneumonia and is miserable. She's had a ear infection for about a week and half that just won't go away. Then a couple days ago her breathing became really labored and her little chest was just a pumping to get oxygen into her body. What really had me nervous was she was telling me her chest hurt her. So last night we went to the doctor on call at 7:30 p.m. and she had a fever of 101 degrees and was on fire. The doctor listened to her lungs for what felt like 5 minutes and then he told me the diagnosis. . .pneumonia. My heart dropped. My first thought was, tonight will be a long night. She was prescriped 2 medicines. We went home, watched one show, and then went to bed. She actually did really good all night. I was only up a couple of times. Then she was up for good at 6:30 a.m., which is too early for me. Lane took over from there since I had to get up at 8 and go to work. She is doing better this morning but still having a hard time breathing. All she wants to do is go outside and ride her bike. At least the wheather is nice!

Moving on to good news!! Lane got a job!! He will be working at Utah Valley Hospital on the oncology floor as a CNA. He is pretty excited!! He will work 3, 12 hour shifts from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. The pay isn't very good but if he works overnight and on weekends there is a pay increase. We also get incredible health insurance for cheap that covers pretty much everything, even maternity!!! :) We have maternity coverage right now but it is a$6,500 deductible and we're paying $300 dollars a month. No, this is not an annoucement that I'm pregnant! I'm just saying for in the future it will be nice to have that coverage. He starts next week with training. The only down side is right now I still have to work and he still has to work at Chilis. But this is only for a couple months. . . until he starts his other job!!! Yes he has another job that he got as well but it doesn't start for a couple months. I will not go into detail what this job is until he actually starts it. The one thing I will say is that things are looking up for the Pont family!!!
