Kangaroos

We took Brookie to Kangaroo Zoo this week and had so much fun!! Our wonderful photographer, Daddy, didn't take very good pictures to capture the whole event but we loved every second of it. We started out on the small slides. You can't really tell in the picture but me and Brookie are jumping, that was fun until some bigger boys who weren't suppose to be in there (this specific toy was only for 6 yrs and younger, and they were clearly older than 6.) We headed over to some bigger slides. I had to go with her on every slide and kind of give her a little shove to get her to go down it, she was a bit of a scardy cat. Once she was going down she was fine! She eventually did find one that she would do all by herself. It was one that had tunnels and things you had to climb up, over, under and around and then at the very end was a slide. She went on that one over and over again. Every day since we've gone, she'll tell us she wants to go to "Kangaroos" and jump, and slide and climb! We will be going back shortly since we thouroughly enjoyed it as you can tell from the video!!

AAhhh....weekends

I love the weekend!! I love lounging around not having to rush out the door to get to work on time. I love getting to spend all day with Brookie. The only thing that would make weekends better are if Daddy could spend them with us too. He basically works all weekend, which sucks but that is when he makes really good tips. We always go out to either breakfast or lunch on Saturday before he goes in to work ALL day.

Being a mom and working full-time is a lot of work. I give props to everyone that does it. It is exhausting. I go to work from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. I pick Brookie up, go home make dinner, play with her for a little bit and then she goes to bed and we start the day all over again tomorrow. It's hard because I have no patience by the time I get home and then i feel like I'm yelling at her all night... "No, don't touch that," "why did you pee your pants?" That was my New Year's Resoultion, to have more patience. Those that know me, know that I am not a patient person...but you have to be with kids! I have been better, I come home and I try to play with her instead or worrying about the dishes or laundry or the fact that the house is a mess. That is why I love weekends, I can do whatever I want and I have all day Saturday to do it. I hate that I have to work, but it's only temporary. Lane finished his CNA course and EMT course. He is now studying to take both tests to become certified. Then we're hoping he'll be able to find a pretty decent job.

Lane has been working so hard. These classes are not easy and it's especially harder because it's crammed into either 4 or 6 weeks. He has been studying like crazy and he actually finished the CNA course, first in his class. He loves what he is doing and is excited about the future. Me and Brookie and so proud of him!

It always seems weekends go way to fast yet the week can drag on. I get a big hit a reality when Monday comes. I've started going to a pilates class at the Rec Center once a week, Monday mornings at 7:00. It goes until 7:55 which still gives me time to shower and get ready and be to work by 8:45 or 9. The first couple weeks were hard but I love it. I feel like it will totally tone my body, which for me is good. So I start my week off with a good workout.

Well now that I've gone on and on about who knows what. . . basically I just wanted to say that being a mom is not easy but the rewards are so fulfilling. I'm trying to soak in every moment I have with Brooklyn because she won't be 2 forever. She is growing up so fast, and I'm trying to be the best Mom I can be.

Wedding Dinner

Last night my little sister Erin got married. I don't have pictures from the wedding yet, but here are some from the rehearsal dinner at Pizza Factory.

These are from the other day. Brookie got this bike for her 2nd birthday, at the time she couldn't really ride it very well. But now she can do it, she doesn't like to put her feet on the pedals so she moves the bike with her feet on the ground.

We have been enjoying the few warms days that we have had recently. It's hard to be cooped up inside all day long! So when it's a nice day I try to take Brookie outside. We've been coloring on the driveway with chalk...


I am super jealous of all you people that are living in warm places!!!

It was kind of cool this day but they wanted to be outside!

The PG boys basketball team made it to state, woo hoo!! I don't remember them every going when we were in High School so apparently this is a big deal. Lane has been helping coach the Sophmore team for several years now and helps out with the Varsity team as well. He absolutely loves it!
Lane took Brooklyn down onto the court. She loves basketball. . . but I make sure when the drill team comes out to perform she watches!!

This really is my life every single day! Throwing a fit! I love Brookie to death but she is definately in the terrible twos! I was trying to put her in her pajama's since it was late and I thought she'd fall asleep on the way home. . . yeah right. It was 10:30 and she was still awake! But she wanted to see Daddy and threw a royal fit!!!!

4 years!!

Yesterday was our 4 year anniversary!! WOW! I can't believe it's been 4 years. To some people that sounds like forever and to other people it's nothing. However, 4 years to me seems like a long time and quite an accomplishment! Since our anniversary fell on a Sunday this year. . . well we sinned and went out. We didn't want Lane to take Friday or Saturday off work since those are the big money making nights so he took Sunday off. Brooklyn went to church with Lane's parents and we spent the whole day together, it was so nice. We went and saw Confessions of a Shopaholic, which was really funny, then we had a late lunch at Pei Wei, my new favorite. Then Lane took me to Big B's (Baskin Robbins) and I got chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream!! Then we went to another movie, He just not that into you, which was really good too! Then we went home got Brookie and then headed to Walmart to do some grocery shopping. It was a really fun day, even though it was Sunday, it was good to spend some quality time with my husband. I just want to say I'm so lucky to be sealed to this man forever. He is an amazing husban and father! I love him so much!!! What a great 4 years it has been and I look forward to the rest of our lives together!
